Abstract: This literature review explores the integration of nanotechnology into solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to bolster efficiency and sustainability in Singapore’s energy landscape. Leveraging quantum dots and one-dimensional nanomaterials, it examines how nanotechnology holds promise for revolutionizing solar energy capture and conversion while acknowledging challenges such as nanoparticle production, and stability issues. The paper additionally underscores the importance of interdisciplinary research to unlock nanotechnology’s full potential within the context of Singapore and its quest for renewable energy sources, underscoring Singapore’s significance of investing into nanotechnology-driven solar energy advancements for the purpose of combating climate change and reducing reliance on imported energy.
